The feathers of Phoenix fall as she flies
City to city, through thundering skies
I fear that she’ll fall too, from frightening heights
Navigating these nights, no guiding beacon of light
Her tread, it has been wearing on these desolate streets
Her tribe has betrayed her, so will all who she meets
She knows this is certain, the pattern’s been shown
She ventures all alone into the endless unknown
The clouds are like caskets, the rain is like stones
The cowards all scowl, she’s bruised to the bone
And god’s in a clear house of bulletproof glass
Saying “we need an angel, bring me one fast”
And now the forecast calls for pain
You tell me every day’s the same
How does she balance, one foot on the floor?
She swallows the key, then she runs for the door
And standing on train tracks, she closes her eyes
And envies the engine whose path is defined
The feathers of Phoenix, they blow through the breeze
Floating toward something she can’t quite believe
But through every false promise there shines still some truth
From deep in the ashes arises new youth
And now your feathers burst aflame
You tell me every day’s the same
Hopefully you've all heard this already. If not, please leave my bandcamp page and go listen to this album, because it's the best music that has ever happened. Viewfinder
